Shah Alam battery factory 80% destroyed in morning fire

A battery factory in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, was 80% destroyed in a fire. No casualties were reported, and the cause is under investigation.

SHAH ALAM: A battery factory was 80% destroyed in a fire in Anggerik Mokara, Kota Kemuning here today.

The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) confirmed no casualties were reported in the incident.

JBPM Selangor Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call at 7.25 am.

Twenty-five firefighters from the Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Andalas stations were mobilised to the scene.

“The operations commander reported that the fire involved a class B building, namely a battery factory with an area of 150×150 square feet, which was 80% destroyed,” he said in a statement.

The fire was successfully brought under control by 8.20 am.

Ahmad Mukhlis said the exact cause of the blaze is still under investigation. – Bernama
