Eight Rahmah Ramadan bazaars in Terengganu will offer discounted food and e-wallet incentives to ease the cost of living during the fasting month.
KUALA NERUS: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in Terengganu will operate Rahmah Ramadan Bazaars (BRR) at eight locations across the state in 2026. The initiative aims to encourage traders to sell food at affordable ‘Rahmah’ prices to help ease living costs.
State KPDN director Mohd Musfi Lat said the programme also promotes cashless payments. Selected BRR traders will receive a one-off RM100 e-wallet incentive.
The first 1,200 visitors at each session in selected bazaars will get RM20 in e-wallet credit for cashless transactions. “Each location will involve two e-wallet distribution sessions,” Mohd Musfi said after a walkabout of the MADANI Rahmah Sales programme.
The incentives will be implemented through e-wallet operators under the Retail Digitalisation Initiative (REDI). The bazaars are scheduled across all parliamentary constituencies in Terengganu.
The Kerteh bazaar in Kemaman will operate on February 24 and March 9. The Kampung Raja bazaar in Besut is set for February 25 and March 10.
In Kuala Nerus, the Gong Badak bazaar will run on February 26 and March 13. The Binjai Rendah bazaar in Marang is scheduled for March 1 and 12.
The Paka bazaar in Dungun will be held on March 2 and 11. The Sungai Tarom bazaar in Setiu is planned for March 3 and 7.
In Kuala Terengganu, the Kuala Ibai bazaar will operate on March 5 and 14. The Kuala Berang bazaar in Hulu Terengganu is set for March 8 and 15.
Separately, over 100 MADANI Rahmah Sales locations will operate statewide. This includes 51 on-premises and 65 mobile operations across all eight districts.
An estimated 30,000 to 50,000 consumers are expected to benefit from the sales programme. Essential goods will be sold at prices 10% to 30% lower than market rates.
The public can visit https://pjrm.kpdn.gov.my for information on dates and locations. Mohd Musfi also assured that KPDN is monitoring prices of essential goods like coconut milk.
Officers will be on the ground to ensure prices do not exceed controlled rates. The Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme will also be implemented to keep goods affordable.
