Nanta urges swift response to natural disasters from severe weather

Works Minister Alexander Nanta calls for urgent action on landslides and flooding, stressing public safety amid unpredictable weather conditions.

KUALA LUMPUR: Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has demanded rapid and urgent responses from all ministry staff and agencies to natural disasters caused by recent severe weather.

Nanta highlighted recent incidents including a Penang landslide and severe flooding in several Perak areas yesterday.

He confirmed that cleanup operations have already commenced while slopes remain under monitoring due to continuing unpredictable weather.

The minister has issued instructions for immediate action, on-the-ground coordination, and timely reporting without any delays.

Nanta emphasised that every single hour is critical for protecting public lives and well-being during such emergencies.
