Perak to assess flood damage for extra federal funding application

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad says state will assess flood-damaged infrastructure to apply for additional federal funding through NADMA special allocations.

TAIPING: The Perak government will conduct an assessment of infrastructure damaged by floods to support an application for additional funding.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the results of the assessment would be forwarded to the federal government and the National Disaster Management Agency for consideration in allocating funds to the state.

District officers will hold a meeting to review the post-flood scenario of infrastructure that are severely damaged, including collapsed bridges.

He stated that although it may be difficult to obtain additional funds, NADMA may have special allocations that could assist the state.
