Rapid KL extends rail service hours for New Year’s Eve 2026

Rapid KL extends rail services until 2am and bus services until 2.30am for New Year’s Eve 2026 to facilitate safe travel after celebrations

KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid KL will extend its rail service operating hours until 2.00 am on New Year’s Eve to facilitate celebrations.

The BRT Sunway Line, selected bus routes, and Rapid KL On-Demand services will operate until 2.30 am on January 1, 2026.

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad stated the move aims to ensure safe, controlled, and smooth passenger movement after the festivities.

The extension covers 20 rail stations, seven BRT stations, 21 main bus routes, feeder services, and nine on-demand zones.

Key stations involved include Pasar Seni, Masjid Jamek, KLCC, and Bukit Bintang across various lines.

Stations on the Kajang and Putrajaya Lines, including Tun Razak Exchange and Cochrane, are also included.

For the BRT Sunway Line, stations like Sunway-Setia Jaya and USJ 7 will operate until 2.30 am.

Train frequency will be increased across all rail lines from 7.30 pm on December 31 until 2.00 am.

“The operating hours for selected bus routes and ROD services will also be extended to 2.30 am,” read the statement.
