Solanke stunner denies Man City, Sesko seals dramatic win for Man Utd

Dominic Solanke’s spectacular scorpion kick earned Tottenham a 2-2 draw with Man City, while Benjamin Sesko’s late winner gave Man Utd a 3-2 victory over Fulham.

MANCHESTER City’s Premier League title hopes suffered another setback as Dominic Solanke’s stunning scorpion kick earned Tottenham a 2-2 draw on Sunday.

Benjamin Sesko then delivered a dramatic 3-2 victory for Manchester United over Fulham with a last-gasp winner.

City appeared in control with a 2-0 half-time lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium through goals from Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo.

Solanke sparked the comeback by pulling a goal back early in the second half.

The England international then produced a moment of brilliance, hooking the ball past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with an acrobatic scorpion kick to level the score.

The result leaves Pep Guardiola’s side six points behind leaders Arsenal.

City have now won just one of their six league games in 2026.

“We haven’t had the consistency to win the games when others were able to do it,” said Guardiola.

The draw offers some relief for under-pressure Tottenham manager Thomas Frank.

At Old Trafford, Manchester United secured a third consecutive win under Michael Carrick with a thrilling late show.

Goals from Casemiro and Matheus Cunha had put United 2-0 ahead.

Fulham staged a dramatic fightback with Raul Jimenez’s 85th-minute penalty and Kevin’s spectacular equaliser moments later.

United responded instantly, with Sesko collecting a Bruno Fernandes pass before firing into the top corner in stoppage time.

“It’s the best feeling I have to say,” said United manager Carrick.

“Some of the best moments I’ve been part of here, you can dissect performances and there are plusses and not, and then you get a moment of elation and excitement like that.”

The victory moves United into the Premier League’s top four.

Aston Villa’s title aspirations faded further with a 1-0 home defeat to 10-man Brentford.

Dango Ouattara scored in first-half stoppage time for the Bees, who played over 45 minutes with 10 men after Kevin Schade’s red card.

Villa dominated possession but failed to find an equaliser, with a Tammy Abraham goal ruled out by VAR.

The loss leaves Villa seven points off the top in third place.

Crystal Palace were held to a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest despite playing against 10 men for the entire second half.

Morgan Gibbs-White gave Forest an early lead before Neco Williams was sent off for a deliberate handball on his own goal-line just before half-time.

Ismaila Sarr converted the resulting penalty, but Palace could not find a winner.

The result extends Palace’s winless run to 12 league games.
