One dead, 17 injured in Prague hostel fire

PRAGUE: One person was killed and 17 others were injured in a fire at a hostel in Prague, rescuers said on Sunday, reported Xinhua.

The Prague Emergency Medical Service said on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that they treated 17 people at the scene, including three police officers.

“Two people were transported to the intensive care unit, and one person was unfortunately pronounced dead,“ it said.

Fifteen people and seven pets were in the hostel in southern Prague’s Zbraslav district when the fire broke out, according to the local fire rescue service.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. – Bernama, Xinhua
