KHARKIV: A Russian drone strike on Ukraine’s northeastern city of Kharkiv killed a 20-year-old woman overnight.
Regional governor Oleg Synegubov said the unmanned aerial vehicle slammed into a private house, also wounding another person.
Kharkiv mayor Igor Terekhov confirmed the fatality in a Telegram post.
A 41-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction following the attack.
The strikes extended beyond Kharkiv to other regions.
In the northeastern Sumy region, an air strike on a residential neighbourhood wounded three women and a seven-year-old child.
Preliminary assessments showed damage to 15 residential buildings.
In the Odesa region, Izmail district officials reported another Russian attack targeting critical infrastructure.
Initial information indicated no casualties from that strike.
Officials said the assault continued a pattern of repeated attacks on the Danube port region.
The strikes occurred as Ukrainian negotiators arrived in the United States for talks.
They are meeting with President Donald Trump’s administration on how to end four years of war with Russia.
The talks are expected to focus on security guarantees and post-war recovery.
The conflict is Europe’s worst since World War II.
