Ukrainian drones strike a Russian oil refinery and port in Krasnodar, injuring three and causing damage as Moscow claims to down dozens of aerial threats.

MOSCOW: Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery and a major port in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region overnight.

Local authorities reported three people were injured in the attack on Port Kavkaz, a key facility for shipping grain and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

The strike also damaged a service vessel and the pier complex at the port, which lies on the Kerch Strait opposite the annexed Crimean peninsula.

In a separate incident, a drone hit the Afipsky oil refinery in the same region, causing a fire to break out at the facility.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces had downed 87 Ukrainian drones overnight.

It stated 31 drones were intercepted over the Sea of Azov and 16 over the Krasnodar region itself.
