Juventus sacks head coach Tudor after eight-game winless run

Juventus dismisses coach Igor Tudor and his staff after failing to win any of their last eight matches across all competitions.

ROME: Italian Serie A side Juventus has announced the dismissal of head coach Igor Tudor and his entire coaching staff.

The club confirmed the decision in an official statement released on Monday.

Tudor’s staff members Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic, and Riccardo Ragnacci have also been relieved of their duties.

The former Juventus centre-back originally took charge of the team in March following the departure of Thiago Motta.

Tudor successfully guided Juventus to qualification for the UEFA Champions League during the previous season.

Juventus began the current campaign impressively with three consecutive victories.

The team secured a memorable 4-3 victory over Inter Milan in the Derby d’Italia on September 13.

However, Juventus then entered a disastrous eight-match winless streak across all competitions.

The winless run included five consecutive draws followed by three straight defeats.

Juventus has also failed to score a single goal throughout its last four matches.

The club currently occupies eighth position in the Serie A standings.

Juventus trails league leaders Napoli by a significant margin of six points.

The team ranks 25th among 36 clubs in the ongoing UEFA Champions League league phase.

Massimo Brambilla will assume temporary control as head coach for the upcoming match against Udinese.

Brambilla currently serves as the coach of Juventus Next Gen, the club’s reserve team.

The interim appointment covers Wednesday evening’s crucial Serie A fixture. – Bernama-Xinhua

Land Rover Builds Toughest Defender for Dakar Rally

Land Rover has pulled the covers off a hardcore new version of the Defender, engineered specifically to take on the 2026 World Rally-Raid Championship and the famously punishing Dakar Rally. The model, officially named the Defender Dakar D7X-R, will compete in the “Stock” category and will be led by 14-time Dakar champion Stéphane Peterhansel, who takes on driving duties for the team.Although the D7X-R is based on the already formidable Defender Octa, the rally variant has been pushed even further within the limits allowed by competition regulations. The body structure has been reinforced, cooling has been improved to cope with the extreme desert heat, and additional underbody protection has been fitted to cope with continuous impact and rough terrain.
