A local toy maker has made a customised toy slingshot to be auctioned off in support of the Palestinian cause.
The owner of Ayaq Mata Toy Company, Wan Kedah shared the toy slingshot on his Facebook page from the details of the slingshot, ranging from its packaging to the reasoning behind the making of the slingshot.
He stated that this slingshot signified resistance as the toy first became popular during the ‘First Intifada’, a sustained series of protests and violent riots carried out by Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories and Israel.
As of its packaging, the package came with a tagline that says,”Today, nearly everything is made in China, except for bravery- it is made in Palestine.”
He also said that every toy he had created and designed has their own unique back story, adding that crafting these toys would bring tears to his eyes.
He added that the toy would not be for sale but instead to be auctioned off to assist in the Palestinian cause.
