ACTOR Pedro Pascal made a surprise return to Saturday Night Live (SNL), delighting the audience with a cameo during the opening monologue of host Bad Bunny. Pascal, who hosted an episode in the previous season, provided guidance to his “friend” Bad Bunny as the rapper sought advice for delivering a successful monologue during his hosting debut on the second episode of the 49th season.

In their interaction, Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, playfully expressed his preference for doing various things in Spanish as opposed to English.

The two friends shared an embrace on stage, and after some more Spanish dialogue from the rapper, Pascal humorously translated, “He says, ‘I’m blessed to be here with my favourite actor, Pedro Pascal.’”

The actor from The Last of Us suggested to Bad Bunny that he could win the audience over by sharing an “embarrassing” photo of himself. Following Pascal’s advice, to some extent, Bad Bunny revealed a sultry photo of himself posing in nothing but a towel.

After viewing the sexy photo, Pascal jokingly remarked, “There’s clearly nothing about you to make fun of.” Pascal ended up being a prominent part of the show, participating in a sketch alongside the host and introducing his second musical performance.

Before that, during the sketch, the two portrayed overprotective Spanish-speaking mothers who were sceptical of their son’s new girlfriend.

Pedro Pascal’s prominence has grown significantly thanks to his roles in various popular fantasy and sci-fi series, including The Game of Thrones on HBO, The Mandalorian on Disney+ and The Last of Us on HBO.

He previously appeared on SNL last season, where he shared the stage with the musical guest, Coldplay.

In this weekend’s star-studded episode, Bad Bunny took on the dual role of host and musical guest. The legendary Rolling Stones frontman, Mick Jagger, made a surprise appearance, along with Lady Gaga.

The upcoming episode of SNL will feature comedian Nate Bargatze as the host and the Foo Fighters as the musical guest.
