UMNO Supreme Council reviews motions from party wings

UMNO’s Supreme Council deliberates motions from its Women’s, Youth and Puteri wings ahead of the president’s policy speech at the general assembly.

KUALA LUMPUR: The UMNO Supreme Council convened a special meeting to review reports and motions from the party’s three wings. The meeting followed the separate general assemblies of the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings held earlier in the day.

UMNO secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki confirmed the council deliberated on all motions raised by delegates from the three wings. He stated another key agenda was finalising the president’s policy speech for delivery the following day.

The meeting was chaired by UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. It was attended by the party’s top leadership including deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and information chief Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.

Ahmad Zahid is scheduled to deliver his presidential policy speech at the ongoing UMNO General Assembly. The 2025 assembly is being held from January 14 to 17 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

The assembly was postponed twice last year to allow the party to focus on the Sabah state election. A total of 6,412 delegates have registered for the main assembly and the three wings’ meetings.
