Autopsy on two-year-old boy found dead in a car in Seremban shows no physical injuries or organ damage, with cause of death currently undetermined.
SEREMBAN: An autopsy on a two-year-old boy found dead in a car here has revealed no physical injuries or damage to internal organs.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad (pic) said the nearly five-hour post-mortem also showed the child tested negative for COVID-19.
“The cause of death is classified as undetermined for now,” he told Bernama.
He added that further investigations are ongoing under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
The child’s 35-year-old mother, who was detained, was released on police bail.
Alzafny said she may be called again to assist with investigations as the case remains under inquiry.
He urged parents to be vigilant and ensure the whereabouts of their children at all times, particularly around vehicles.
The public was also cautioned against speculating on the incident.
The boy was discovered dead in the car after being reportedly left by his mother, who works at a nearby bank, at 8 am.
The incident was only noticed around 5 pm after she finished work.
