Police issue over 150 summonses in Genting Highlands operation

Bentong police issued 154 summonses for traffic offences and detained a foreign woman in an integrated crime prevention roadblock on Jalan Genting Highlands.

GENTING HIGHLANDS: Police issued 154 summonses for various traffic offences during an integrated crime prevention roadblock on Jalan Genting Highlands.

The Bentong district police headquarters conducted inspections on 246 vehicles during the special operation.

Offences included exhaust modifications, non-compliant registration numbers, and driving without a valid licence or road tax.

Other violations involved missing side mirrors, unauthorised accessories, and failure to wear a seatbelt.

Bentong police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the operation followed public complaints about noisy, modified vehicles and racing in the area.

He stated that such operations would be conducted continuously to address these disturbances for visitors and residents.

In the same operation, a foreign woman was detained for failing to produce identification documents or a passport.

She was held under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

The operation involved 27 officers and personnel from the Bentong IPD, assisted by the Genting Highlands Auxiliary Police.

It ran from 10 pm on Thursday until 2 am on Friday.
