67-year-old arrested after vandalising multiple ATMs in Sentul

Police arrest man suspected of damaging 12 ATMs in Sentul; no money was stolen, five cases resolved.

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a 67-year-old man suspected of damaging 12 ATMs in the Sentul area.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Basri Sagoni said the arrest on Wednesday (Feb18) followed investigations into multiple reports of vandalism, The Star reported.

“Questioning found that the suspect committed the act because he was dissatisfied after failing to withdraw money from the ATM,” he was quoted as saying.

The arrest has helped police solve five reported cases of ATM screen vandalism.

No money was stolen from any of the machines.
