Minister Steven Sim admitted to hospital for extreme fatigue, advises rest after hectic schedule but vows to return stronger soon.
GEORGE TOWN: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Steven Sim Chee Keong has been hospitalised after experiencing extreme fatigue.
Sim attributed the condition to a hectic work schedule over recent weeks.
He revealed the hospitalisation occurred on the fourth day of Chinese New Year in a Facebook post.
“Doctors have advised me to take a short rest. I’ll be back soon, stronger! Keep going forward… goodness will follow after hardship,” he wrote.
His media officer confirmed they were informed only after Sim was admitted.
The officer said Sim’s family has not disclosed detailed medical information.
They believe the cause is likely extreme fatigue from his demanding workload.
“His condition is not serious, just very tired,” the officer stated.
The family hopes Sim can be given space to rest fully during his recovery.
