PERKESO recovers RM5.33 million from 426 employers over false Daya Kerjaya claims, with 73 arrested in Op Daya.

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM5.33 million from the Daya Kerjaya fund has been successfully recovered from 426 employers suspected of making false claims for the incentive.

Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said that RM1.5 million of the same fund had been returned by 52 employers after admitting their involvement in the criminal activities.

He said the activity of falsifying the claim documents was detected by PERKESO’s Anti-Fraud, Ethics and Integrity (AFEI) section at the end of 2024, followed by an internal investigation and field intelligence.

“Detailed intelligence information by AFEI found that 426 employers were suspected of being involved in the criminal activities before being handed over to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in August 2025,” he said in a statement today.

Mohammed Azman said he then instructed AFEI to cooperate with the MACC to carry out Op Daya on June 9.

“The success of the operation that uncovered the fake claims activity is the result of the implementation of existing governance at PERKESO, assisted by artificial intelligence (AI) technology facilities,” he said.

On June 9, the MACC arrested 73 individuals acting as agents and company owners across the country except for Perlis, suspected of being involved in a syndicate falsifying claims for the 2.0 Career Incentive Programme worth approximately RM9 million.

Preliminary investigations found that all of them are suspected of committing the act between 2024 and 2025, by making false claims involving government employment assistance of RM1,500 per month for six months for each worker employed by private sector employers and government-linked companies (GLCs).
