Investigating officer testifies no pornographic content found on Ebit Lew’s devices during house inspection in sexual harassment case.
TENOM: The police investigating officer in the sexual harassment case involving preacher Ebit Erawan Ibrahim Lew testified that she conducted an initial analysis of several digital devices at his residence.
Superintendent Noor Asyikin Shamsuri, the 18th prosecution witness, stated she visited the house on August 19, 2021, accompanied by a photographer and forensic team.
She explained they inspected a computer and several mobile phones for any pornographic elements during the visit.
The officer confirmed that no pornographic materials were found on any of the examined devices.

She further noted that no other telephones were discovered within the house during their inspection.
The photographer captured 34 photographs inside Lew’s residence along with one image of the electricity bill.
Noor Asyikin revealed she had instructed Inspector Mohd Ashraf Chai Abdullah to issue a request letter to WhatsApp LLC USA on August 16, 2021.
This request sought access to review the accused’s WhatsApp account as part of the investigation process.
The letter aimed to obtain details of WhatsApp account users and relevant call logs for the case.
Lew faces eleven charges under Section 509 of the Penal Code for allegedly insulting a woman’s modesty.
The charges involve sending obscene words and pictures to a woman in her 40s via WhatsApp between March and June 2021.
If convicted, the offence carries a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment or a fine or both.
The hearing before Magistrate Nur Asyraf Zolhani will continue on November 3 and 4 for further proceedings. – Bernama
