ONE of the most important lessons parents can teach their children is kindness and an effective way teaching children this important value is to lead by example.
A young mother’s care toward her child’s friend has touched netizens’ hearts, amassing over 19,000 likes and over 1,100 comments on Facebook page Masak Apa Tak Jadi Hari Ni Official.
The mother, Siti Hawa Mohd Zainudin, recently found out that her child’s friend lost their mother at the tender age of 11 and on top of that, does not have enough money to buy food during breaks at school.
Upon finding this out about the young student, Siti took it upon herself to pack an extra lunchbox for her child’s friend so that they have something to eat.
“Sometimes, I notice that my child shares their food with their friend. There are times where I have given the friend extra spending money,” she said in her post.
Siti was also touched how her child told her how their friend wiped clean their lunch provided by her, saying how tasty it was.
Siti empathised with her child’s friend’s plight from her perspective as a mother who is also worried for her child’s fate if she or her husband was gone.
“I will help my child’s friend however much I can because I know what it is like to lose someone you love,” she mentioned in the comments section, touching on the painful topic of her own mother’s passing 15 years ago.
