Malaysia’s pineapple exports rose from 800 to 1,727 containers, a more than 100% increase, driven by strong industry commitment.
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s pineapple industry has recorded strong growth with exports rising more than 100% in the past six months.
Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu revealed that exports increased from 800 to 1,727 containers as of October 2024.
He stated this achievement proves the agricultural sector, particularly the pineapple industry, has great potential to generate substantial income for farmers.
Mohamad expressed confidence that pineapple exports will continue to grow in 2025, driven by the continued commitment of farmers, agencies and industry players.
He also urged more Malaysians, especially youths, to take up modern farming to boost farmers’ income and strengthen national food security. – Bernama
