Six Indian nationals detained over Puchong murder investigation

Police detain six Indian nationals in Puchong murder case, identify main suspect in death of Indian permanent resident found on shoplot staircase.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have detained six Indian nationals who were housemates of the main suspect in the murder of an Indian permanent resident.

The victim was found dead on the staircase of a shoplot in Pusat Bandar Puchong yesterday.

Serdang district police chief ACP Muhamad Farid Ahmad said the suspects are being questioned about the discovery.

“Statements from four witnesses, including the complainant, have been recorded to assist the investigation,” he said in a statement today.

He confirmed police have identified the main suspect, who is also an Indian national.

The 49-year-old victim worked as a self-employed technician and had been residing in Malaysia for 19 years.

Police are reviewing closed-circuit television footage from the scene to assist investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
