PH-BN ties in unity govt remain intact, says Fahmi

Fahmi Fadzil says Pakatan Harapan remains committed to keeping cooperation within the unity government intact for political stability.

JOHOR BAHRU: Pakatan Harapan (PH) remains committed to keeping cooperation within the Unity Government intact to ensure political stability and protect the interests of the people.

PH Communications director Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said any differing views among component parties will be referred directly to the Leadership Council, ensuring they are managed in an orderly manner without affecting the country’s administration.

He said that maintaining political stability at the federal level was of utmost importance at present, given that the country was facing various challenges, including the global supply crisis.

“Certainly at this time, we will strive to ensure that the relationship at the federal level remains intact within the Unity Government. We still have a lot to do.

“We know that at this time the country is facing a global supply crisis, and political stability at the federal level is therefore very important,” the PKR Information chief told reporters after inspecting the final preparations for the Pakatan Harapan Convention 2026 at the Johor Persada International Convention Centre here today.

Commenting on conflict management within the Unity Government, Fahmi, who is also Communications Minister, cited the situation in Negeri Sembilan as an example, saying it had been handled effectively without affecting support for the existing government.

“Alhamdulillah, looking at what happened in Negeri Sembilan, UMNO Negeri Sembilan has ultimately maintained its support for the Unity Government despite differences of views on several matters, which have been successfully managed in an orderly and structured manner without affecting administration,” he said.

He said that the Federal Government’s primary focus at the moment to translate macroeconomic figures into tangible benefits for the people through various aid and development programmes.
