Wild boar spotted running outside Putrajaya Hospital triggers memes and habitat loss debates

A Malaysian woman was left shocked after spotting a wild boar running in front of Hospital Putrajaya, sparking humorous reactions online

A Malaysian woman was left shocked after spotting a wild boar running in front of Hospital Putrajaya.

She recorded the encounter and shared the video on Threads, where it quickly amused netizens and triggered a wave of humorous reactions.

Many users came up with jokes about why the wild boar had ventured into the area.

Some jokingly suggested that the animal wanted to leave village life behind.

“The wild boar got bored with staying in the kampung because there was only forest there, so it decided to move to the city,” one user wrote.

Others shared equally light-hearted remarks. One joked: “Maybe the wild boar’s baby is sick, so it went to the hospital.”

Some claimed the animal was looking for a government job, while others quipped that it was trying to apply for a new passport.

Another person said their children had previously claimed to have seen a wild boar “jogging” along the Precinct 11 walkway.

“I didn’t believe them, but after this went viral, it seems to be true,” the person said.

Amid the humour, some netizens also raised a more serious point.

One commenter said that sightings of wild boars in Cyberjaya and Putrajaya are not unusual, adding that the areas were once part of the animals’ natural habitat.

Others pointed out that habitat loss may be pushing wildlife closer to urban areas.

“As time passes, they are losing their habitat,” one user commented, while another suggested that ongoing development may have displaced them from nearby forests.

“A lot of wild boars are entering the city because their habitats are being destroyed by greedy humans,” another netizen wrote.

Among the replies, a response from the Putrajaya Member of Parliament Service Centre stating that the matter had been raised.
