Aidiladha: Ministers urge people to embrace spirit of sacrifice, compassion

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, in a Facebook post, said Aidiladha teaches that every sacrifice made sincerely carries great value in the eyes of Allah SWT.

KUALA LUMPUR: Several ministers today extended Hari Raya Aidiladha greetings to Muslims nationwide and called on the public to continue fostering a spirit of mutual assistance and compassion towards those in need.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, in a Facebook post, said Aidiladha teaches that every sacrifice made sincerely carries great value in the eyes of Allah SWT.

He also expressed hope that this year’s celebration would bring people closer to the values of compassion, patience and sincerity towards one another.

“May this blessed day bring our hearts closer to love, patience and sincerity towards one another. Salam Aidiladha, Maaf Zahir dan Batin,” he said in the post.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said Aidiladha is not merely about the ritual of sacrificial worship, but also serves to teach humanity the meaning of sincerity, obedience and compassion.

“In embracing the spirit of sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail, let us strengthen our ukhuwah (brotherhood), care for those in need and be grateful for all the blessings bestowed upon us by Allah SWT,” said Zambry.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi also expressed hope that the meaningful celebration would bring blessings, peace and happiness to all Malaysians.

He said Aidiladha also serves as an important reminder of the values of sacrifice and sincerity, which form a strong foundation for building a harmonious society.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said every sacrifice made with a sincere heart would bring immense blessings in the eyes of Allah SWT.

“Behind every success, happiness and blessing we enjoy today, there is surely a sacrifice that has been made. Whether in raising a family, pursuing knowledge, earning a livelihood or serving the community, every effort undertaken with patience and sincerity has its own value,” she said.

She also urged the public to cultivate greater gratitude, strengthen ties and continue fostering the spirit of helping one another and sharing sustenance with the less fortunate.

Nancy also prayed that all acts of worship and prayers offered by Muslims would be accepted by Allah SWT, and that they be blessed with good health, peace of mind and blessings in every step of life.
