Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the Felda Settlers’ Day and 70th anniversary celebration in Maran, Pahang today.
MARAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) Settlers’ Day and 70th anniversary celebration at Stadium Tun Abdul Razak, Jengka here today.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, is expected to deliver his address at 2.30 pm in recognition of the contributions and sacrifices of FELDA settlers, who have played a key role in the organisation’s development over the past seven decades since its establishment in 1956.
The event will also be attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
Anwar is also scheduled to present the 2025 FELDA Tokoh Peneroka and Penerokawati, Tokoh Generasi, Tokoh Belia and Beliawanis awards, as well as the Felda Scheme Excellence Award (AKRF).
The celebration commemorates FELDA’s seven decades as a land development and rural community institution that has transformed the socio-economic status of settler families nationwide.
It also serves as a platform to honour the pioneer generation while showcasing FELDA’s achievements in economic transformation, digitalisation, technological innovation, environmental sustainability and community well-being.
The event marks the finale of a four-day programme that began on July 4, featuring more than 40 activities covering technology, sports, education, innovation, culture and spirituality.
