Johor polls see 38.64% early voter turnout by 10am

Early voting in the Johor state election reaches 38.64% by 10am, with 64 polling centres open for military and police personnel.

JOHOR BAHRU: Early voting turnout for the Johor state election reached 38.64 per cent by 10 am today.

The Election Commission (EC) confirmed on its official Facebook page that the total includes 7,963 military personnel, their spouses, and police.

A total of 64 polling centres opened at 8 am for 20,607 registered voters to cast their votes.

All polling centres will close progressively between noon and 6 pm today, depending on location and voter numbers.

A total of 172 candidates are vying for 56 state assembly seats in the Johor polls, with some 2.7 million voters set to cast their ballots this Saturday.
