GRS leads Sabah polls with 16 seats, Warisan has 10, BN 3 as EC announces partial results with 38 of 73 seats declared so far.
KOTA KINABALU: Official results of the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN) show that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) is leading with 16 seats as of 12.20 am, said Election Commission (EC) Chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun.
Ramlan said Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) has secured 10 seats, Barisan Nasional (BN) three seats, while Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku and Independent candidates have won two seats each.
Pakatan Harapan (PH), Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM), and the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) have also won one seat each.
Overall, Ramlan said 38 out of 73 seats — more than 50 per cent — have been announced so far, and the EC is still awaiting the remaining results to be announced by the Returning Officers for 35 state constituencies across Sabah.
“Further results will be announced from time to time,” he said.
Sabah has 73 State Legislative Assembly seats, and a simple majority of 37 seats is required to form the state government.
