Two boys feared drowned after falling into drain in Kajang

Two brothers, aged 12 and 14, are feared drowned after being swept away in a drain in Kajang while trying to retrieve a ball

KAJANG: Two brothers are feared drowned after falling into a large drain in Taman Prima Saujana this evening.

The boys, aged 12 and 14, were swept away by a strong current while trying to retrieve a ball.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call about the incident at 6.32 pm.

A team from the Kajang Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene on Lorong 1/3A just seven minutes later.

Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar confirmed the search and rescue operation is focused on the main drain area.

“Search and rescue operations are still underway,” he said in a statement today.

The department deployed one machine and six personnel to the location. – Bernama

Six nations compete in RSC youth football event

Over 1,200 young footballers will compete in the upcoming 19th edition of the Royal Selangor Club (RSC) – Datuk Chu Ah Nge International Junior Soccer Tournament slated for today and ends on Dec 7 at the grounds of the RSC Bukit Kiara Annexe. This year’s tournament will also feature teams from Singapore, Maldives, Indonesia, Nepal and Malaysia, said organising committee chairman Datuk Gerald Rakish Kumar.
