Malaysian Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar has been appointed an adjunct professor at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) chief General Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar has been appointed an adjunct professor at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
The appointment to the Faculty of Leadership and Management was formalised at a ceremony at Wisma Pertahanan today.
USIM vice-chancellor Col (Rtd) Prof Datuk Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani presented the letter of appointment, which is effective from 21 October.
The appointment recognises Mohd Nizam’s strategic leadership and extensive experience in national defence and security management.
“The decisive factor in selecting him for this prestigious role is Mohd Nizam’s comprehensive strategic direction for the MAF,” a MAF Headquarters statement said.
His strategic direction encompasses asset modernisation, defence diplomacy, and progressive human resource governance.
“This appointment will strengthen the MAF’s academic collaboration through knowledge sharing, joint research, and military leadership module development at higher education institutions,” the statement read.
The ceremony was also attended by USIM University Board of Directors chairman Tan Sri Dr. Nik Norzul Thani Nik Hassan Thani.
The MAF expressed appreciation to USIM for the recognition, which is expected to positively impact knowledge culture within the military.
It is also seen as a step to strengthen credible and future-oriented professional leadership.
