Earlier in the week, Perry accompanied Trudeau, 53, to a formal luncheon with Japan’s former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his spouse Yuko. Kishida, who led Japan from 2021 until 2024, shared a photograph of the four standing before a Christmas tree on social media platform X.
In his post, Kishida reflected on his professional relationship with Trudeau, noting their collaboration on strengthening ties between their nations, including the development of the Japan-Canada Action Plan. He expressed pleasure at maintaining their connection beyond their political careers.
Trudeau responded warmly to the post, thanking Kishida for his ongoing dedication to international cooperation and expressing gratitude that he and Perry could spend time with the Kishidas.
