PM Anwar wishes Malaysian athletes luck for SEA Games 2025

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim sends best wishes to Malaysia’s 1,142 athletes competing at the SEA Games 2025 in Thailand.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his best wishes to the national contingent for the SEA Games Thailand 2025.

He urged the athletes to compete with focus, calmness, and confidence as the biennial Games officially begin.

“The prayers of all Malaysians accompany your every step,” Anwar posted on social media today.

The SEA Games will run through December 20, with the ASEAN Para Games 2025 scheduled for January 20-26, 2026.

Malaysia has sent a delegation of 1,142 athletes and 515 officials to the SEA Games.

For the ASEAN Para Games, the country will send 236 athletes and 117 officials.

The national contingent is targeting a haul of 200 medals at the SEA Games 2025.

Several sporting events commenced earlier this week ahead of the official opening. – Bernama
