Triad revenge motive behind fatal Rasah-Mambau shooting, say police

Negeri Sembilan police say a fatal shooting along Jalan Rasah-Mambau was motivated by triad revenge, with three suspects detained and a pistol seized

SEREMBAN: Police believe a fatal shooting inside a car along Jalan Rasah-Mambau was motivated by revenge linked to secret society activities.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said three men have been detained to assist in the investigation.

A pistol along with several rounds of ammunition were also seized in the case.

“We are still tracking down suspects and witnesses to assist in the investigation,” he said.

Alzafny confirmed that seven individuals have so far been called in to have their statements recorded.

He stated police believe the case was driven by revenge.

“The victim was the bodyguard of the injured man, who is suspected to be a leader of a secret society group,” Alzafny told Bernama.

In the 7.30 am incident on Wednesday, a 43-year-old man died while receiving treatment at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital.

A 47-year-old man was injured after being shot by two suspects on a motorcycle along the road towards the Port Dickson toll plaza.

In a separate development, Alzafny said no reports have been received regarding an incident where a man was injured while searching for ‘petai’ in Senaling.

“Police are currently tracking down the individuals involved,” he said.

He added that police do not rule out the possibility of illegal hunting activities in forests in the state.

Kuala Pilah police chief Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said the 47-year-old victim was alone when hit by buckshot yesterday.

The victim sustained injuries to his right rib and back areas.

The self-employed victim was reported to be in stable condition. – Bernama
