The silver medal was won by Indonesia, who scored 9.620 points, while the Philippines took home the bronze medal with a score of 9.590 points.

“We trained together starting last June, despite undergoing three intensive training sessions a day. The effort clearly paid off and resulted in this gold medal. We are very happy with the first gold achievement for wushu at this Games,” Mandy said when met after the competition.

Meanwhile, in the men’s competition, the national trio of Si Shin Peng, Bryan Ti Kai Jie, and Clement Ting missed the opportunity to reach the podium in the Men’s Duilian (armed) event on the first day of the wushu competition.

The three exponents displayed their best performance in an effort to collect the highest score but only managed 9.716 points, thus finishing the competition in fourth place.

The gold medal was won by the host country’s representatives, followed by Indonesia who took silver, while Brunei were awarded the bronze medal. – Bernama
