LG Malaysia donates smart solutions worth RM42,000 to Zoo Negara, improving visitor experience & conservation
LG Malaysia has reinforced its commitment to community engagement and environmental conservation through a strategic technology donation worth over RM42,000 to Zoo Negara, one of Malaysia’s most iconic wildlife institutions.
The initiative reflects LG Electronics’ evolution into a smart life solutions company, extending its “Life’s Good” philosophy beyond residential spaces into public venues where communities gather to learn and connect with nature.
Strategic Technology Deployment Across Key Zones
The donation comprises a carefully selected range of premium products designed to enhance both visitor comfort and educational engagement. Air purifiers have been strategically installed at Rimba Reptilia, the Giant Panda Conservation Centre, and the Gallery Museum, ensuring optimal air quality in enclosed viewing areas where large numbers of visitors congregate.
Water purification systems now provide convenient access to clean drinking water at the Biodiversity Garden, Rimba Reptilia, and outside Surau Al-Hurairah. This initiative not only improves visitor convenience but also supports sustainability efforts by reducing dependence on single-use plastic bottles.
Educational experiences have been significantly upgraded through the installation of 65-inch LG AI TVs at Rimba Reptilia and the Gallery Museum. These advanced displays enable more immersive visual storytelling, helping visitors better understand conservation messages and wildlife information. Additionally, the zoo’s Education Office Department received new LG monitors to support conservation programmes and interactive learning initiatives.

Employee Volunteering Demonstrates Hands-On Commitment
Beyond financial and technological contributions, LG Malaysia demonstrated its dedication through direct engagement in conservation work. As part of the company’s team-building corporate social responsibility initiative, 60 LG employees participated in Zoo Negara’s Green Project, working alongside professional zookeepers.
Volunteers assisted with various essential tasks including behavioral enrichment activities, husbandry care, exhibit cleaning, and food preparation for the animals. This hands-on involvement underscores the company’s philosophy that meaningful community impact requires both technological innovation and personal participation.
