Perak state government closes 2025 with an RM85 million revenue surplus, driven by high-impact projects and prudent financial management.
IPOH: The Perak state government concluded 2025 with a revenue surplus of RM85 million, signalling a stable and resilient economic recovery.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad attributed the achievement to prudent financial governance, structured expenditure management, and sustained political stability.
He said the success demonstrates the state’s ability to restore its finances after recording deficits for three consecutive years previously.

“Alhamdulillah, today Perak is not only stable once again, but is also on the right track to continue growing sustainably,” Saarani said at the state-level New Year’s Eve 2026 celebration.
He stated that economic growth has been driven by several high-impact projects.
These include the Automotive High Tech Valley, Lumut Maritime Industrial City, and the Perak Halal Industrial Park.
Other key projects are the Silver Valley Technology Park and the Kerian Integrated Green Industrial Park.
Saarani noted the federal government has recognised this commitment by listing most projects under Budget 2026 and the 13th Malaysia Plan.
He emphasised that the success is a result of the collective efforts of all Perakians.
“From Ipoh to Parit, from Tanjong Malim to Lumut, every inch of Perak has contributed to this achievement,” he added.
Saarani said contributions came from civil servants, small entrepreneurs, youths, and communities working together.
He also called on the people to fully leverage the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign to strengthen tourism.
“VM2026 presents a major opportunity for Perak,” Saarani stated, urging collective effort to ensure its success. – Bernama
