Motorcyclist shot dead at Taman Songket, Sungai Petani

    ALOR SETAR: A motorcyclist was shot dead by two men at Taman Songket in Jalan Kuala Ketil, Sungai Petani last night. In the incident at 10.15pm, M. Gurubaran, 24, from Taman Keladi, Sungai Petani died at the scene.
    Kedah CID chief ACP Mohd Nashir Ya said the victim was trailed by four men on two motorcycles before being fired at as he was entering the housing area.
    "The shots caused the victim to fall from his motorcycle and he succumbed to serious injuries. The suspects fled after the incident," he said when contacted here today.
    He said no arrest had been made and police were tracking down the suspects and investigating the motive, while the victim's remains were sent to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani for post mortem. – Bernama
