Bulgari returns to its roots with Mediterranean high jewelry collection

BULGARI has unveiled a new high jewellery collection 'Magnificent Inspirations,' celebrating the Mediterranean.
The Italian jewellery house to the stars was inspired by Roman sunsets, the blue of the Mediterranean Sea and "the gold of ancient ages" to capture the colours and light of its homeland for the collection, which comprises three key categories.
The first, 'Divas' Dream Eleganza,' has been designed for the Roman modern-day icons of glamour who naturally fit into the beautiful backdrop of the Eternal City. The daring and contemporary designs are embedded with sapphire blues and emerald greens inspired by the Dolce Vita stars who graced Roman red carpets.
The second, 'Ispirazioni Italiane', features coloured gemstones that echo the colours of Italy, referencing its vibrant landscapes through deep gem colours and different textures. From the turquoise of Capri to the blue of Lake Como, the pinks of Sicilian sunrise to the oranges of Puglia sunset, and the greens of Tuscan vineyards to the bright reds of Roman street gelatos, the Mediterranean colour scheme is set into ornate gold casing.
The third category, 'Parentesi Hamata', draws its inspiration from the antique 'cuirass', the core of a Roman knight's armour. Its design honours women as the heroines of the modern era, and uses diamond rings clasped firmly together to play on the idea of strength. Parentesi Hamata symbolizes a striking yet simple concept: strong are the powers of woman.
The Roman house is known for its themed high jewellery collections – earlier this year it debuted a "Bulgari Serpenti" archival range paying homage to the snake, including pieces created by the brand in the 1940s that were made with the Tubogas technique.
Pieces from 'Magnificent Inspirations' will be available from the Paris Bulgari boutique during Haute Couture week in July, with prices available upon request. — AFP Relaxnews
