Canny Ong killer executed on Friday

KUALA LUMPUR: Former aircraft crew cleaning supervisor Ahmad Najib Aris was finally executed for the 2003 murder of Canny Ong (pix) on Friday at 6am.
Ahmad Najib had been on death row for 11 years after the Shah Alam High Court sentenced him on Feb 23, 2005, for the murder of Ong, at Km11 of Jalan Klang Lama between 1am and 5am on June 14, 2003.
Ahmad Najib's former lawyer Mohamed Khatri Abdulla described the former as being a "better Muslim and was calm" while behind bars when asked to comment by theSun.
Kajang Prison officials were unreachable for comments and did not issue a press statement on the matter.
