Teenager charged with murder of 14-year-old girl
ALOR SETAR (Jan 28, 2014): A teenager was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today with the murder of a 14-year-old girl in November last year.
Mohd Firdaus Mohd Faridul, 19, is accused of having murdered Noor Syafikah Nadia Abdullah in Kampung Alor Senibong, Mukim Tajar, near here between 9.30pm and 11.30pm on Nov 29.
The accused nodded to indicate he understood the charge.
No plea was recorded.
Magistrate Mohd Khairul Hafizuddin Ramli set March 4 for mention.
Mohd Firdaus was not represented by counsel.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Wan Noor Hasnita Wan Daud appeared for the prosecution.
The body of Noor Syafikah Nadia was found in a paddy field in Alor Senibong at 3.45pm on Nov 30 after she was reported missing along with her two sisters, Nur Izzati Husna Rusdi, 12, and Puteri Nurul Akma Rusdi, three, a day earlier.
The bodies of the two other girls were found at about 4pm on Dec 1 by a river in Kampung Padang Tani, Langgar, about 3.5km from where the other body was recovered.
The three sisters had reportedly ridden a motorcycle at about 7.30pm on Nov 29 to visit a friend of Noor Syafikah Nadia in nearby Kampung Gelam, but did not return home. – Bernama
