PUTTING child development at the forefront of their endeavours, Weplay, Animals for YOUNG and the National Autism Society of Malaysia (Nasom) have pooled their resources to launch Little Ninja Warrior.
Located on the ground floor of Sunway Velocity Mall's Main Atrium, the Little Ninja Warrior functions as an obstacle course geared towards children below the age of seven.
Imagine the American Ninja Warrior TV series, but with less testosterone, more fun and undertaken entirely by enthusiastic children.
Weplay's Little Ninja Warrior is constructed to improve the holistic development of children using the company's five-method educational strategy, explains founder Elton Chiu.
"These five areas are Motor Skill Improvement, Tactile Perception, Balance Coordination, Fine Motor Skill Improvement and Creative Play Interaction. After continuous research, we found that we have helped to develop the self-confidence, attention and cognition of children, while stabilising their emotion," said Chiu.
Due to the collaboration with Nasom, the obstacle course is made to accommodate children with special needs. theSun witnessed Nasom and the 25 children under its society who took up the Little Ninja Warrior challenge.
Other than the course, kids can test their motor skills and balance coordination on the scooter ride, and engage in clay mask colouring to unleash their creativity on a sandy canvas.
Founder of Animals for YOUNG Dr E. Joon Khew says, "We are glad and thankful that an international award-winning toy company has joined us in doing this.
Through play and animals, children will learn about compassion, love and care; qualities that are core to creating a more loving and responsible future generation".
As a token of appreciation, a Weplay Motor Skill Universal Set worth RM2,957 was presented by Chiu to Nasom, received by its honorary treasurer Khaw Hock Swee.
The Little Ninja Warrior obstacle is open to children at the main atrium of Sunway Velocity from March 13 to 19.
