Jobless man gets three months jail for trespassing into the Istana Bukit Serene
JOHOR BARU: A magistrates' court sentenced a jobless man to three months jail after he pleaded guilty to trespassing into the Istana Bukit Serene grounds.
Rosman Jasman, 35, was charged under Section 447 of Penal Code for trespassing security area.
During mitigation, he told the court that he was not familiar with the Istana Bukit Serene area and had entered about 7.25am on April 17 when he was detained by the security personnel.
He said he is from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and had arrived in Johor Baru recently.
Rosman pleaded for leniency as he was the sole bread winner of his family who comprised of aged-parents, wife and four children.
Magistrate Noor Aisyah Ahmad sentenced him to three months jail starting from April 17.
DPP Muhammad Syafiq Mohd Ghazali prosecuted, and Rosman was unrepresented.
