ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Johor Department of Environment (DoE) signed a Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today.
State MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias said more than 150 people including the state DoE director Datuk Dr Mohammad Ezanni Mat Salleh, took part in the signing ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the Bangunan Sultan Ismail in Kota Iskandar Putri here.
Azmi, who witnessed the signing, said this was a positive step for government agencies in the fight against corruption and to strengthen its relationships with the agency.
"The signing would establish a closer network of strategic cooperation besides improving integrity and being an example to other government agencies especially in Johor in combating corruption and abuse," he said.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Ezanni said the IBR was an important undertaking for all organisations as it would ensure individual responsibility and the understanding of integrity.
Johor Health executive committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat, who was present, lauded the move.
"We want to see civil servants implement the trust they are entrusted with so that they can produce the best quality of work," Ayub said.
