Pro-Umno NGO accuses new govt of practising 'rule of the jungle'

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no point suing MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull as the new government practices "rule of the jungle" and not the rule of law, said Datuk Lokman Noor Adam, president of pro-Umno NGO Pemantau Malaysia Baru.
At the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex today, he responded to Shukri's challenge to go ahead and sue him.
"No point in suing, as the new government uses rule of the jungle, not the rule of law. And you want to know why he is so confident, it is because they now have the Attorney-General on their side," he told the media awaiting the arrival of Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and his children Nooryana and Norashman to complete posting bail.
He also went on to say that as the AG is on their side, the case of finance minister Lim Guan Eng will soon be dropped.
Lokman alleged that MACC was lying when it claimed the bank account of former prime minister Najib's grandson was never frozen.
Holding up a screenshot of a document with the MACC's stamp, he accused the commission of deceiving the media when it said that the baby's account was not frozen by them.
"Nooryana has three accounts and one of it is a junior account, which was frozen by MACC. They are claiming it wasn't by them but by BNM (Bank Negara Malaysia). I would like to prove that MACC are liars," he said, holding up a screenshot of the document that had MACC's logo.
"I am not accusing the whole of MACC but just Shukri," he clarified.
