Remains of convicted Malaysian drug mule arrives from Peru

SEPANG: The remains of convicted Malaysian drug mule Syzlin Hataman arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here, this afternoon after a long haul flight from Lima, Peru.
Syzlin, 43, from Johor, who had asthma and diabetes, succumbed to health complications at a hospital in Lima on Saturday, Oct 7 at 6.50pm (7.50am Malaysian time). After a week of sorting out technicalities, her body was finally released from Peru on Saturday Oct 14.
Her body was received by family members and members of the The Umno welfare bureau (BiKUM) at the airports cargo village.
BiKUM chairman Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said in a press statement that arrangements had been made for her body to be driven straight to the Larkin Mosque in Johor Baru for her last rites and the remains will be put to rest at the Kebun Teh Muslim cemetery there as well.
Shamsul Anuar also added that now that this is settled, he is going to focus his priority to bringing back two other victims that were part of this international drug syndicate who are also stuck in Peru.
