Sombre farewell for 11 tahfiz students

KUALA LUMPUR: The remains of eleven tahfiz students that perished in a fire tragedy on Thursday have been laid to rest at the Rhaudatul Sakinah muslim cemetery here.
All of the deceased were brought to their final resting place after the completion of the identification process in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
Among those who were buried in the cemetery were the three brothers- Muhammad Syafiq Haikal Mohd Sulaiman, Muhammar Harris Ikhwan and Muhammad Hafiz Iskandar.
The others were Muhammad Aidil Aqmal Mohd Zamzuri, Ahmad Harith Adam Mohd Nor Hadi, Muhammad Nizammudin Nasrun, Muhammad Taufik Hidayat Norazizan, Amiel Asyraaf Abd Rasid, Muhammad Zattulah Roslan, Muhammad Danieal Md Amin and Muhammad Hazim Ahmad Nor.
All of them were aged between 10 to 16 years old.
They were among the 23 people that were killed during a fire that broke out early Thursday morning at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tahfiz school in Keramat.
The body of Muhammad Hazim was the first to be laid to rest, where the hearse carrying his remains arrived at the cemetery compound at 6.30pm.
A sombre mood could be felt as soon as the bodies were lowered into their graves, with family members were seen in teary eyes and hugging each other.

The cemetery grounds were packed with the presence of more than 700 people, with personnel from the Malaysian Civil Defence Department and Fire and Rescue Department facilitating the sombre procession.
Among those present at the funeral was Federal Territories Mufti Datuk Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.
The recital of 'talkin' (farewell prayers) was led Ustaz Mohamad Shukeri Yaaccob soon after the burial process was done, which was participated by family members.
A brief light shower were unable to break the ties between the family members and the deceased as they continue with their prayer under the rainy sky.
The funeral procession ended at 8.50pm at the conclusion of the talkin.
The rest of deceased are expected be buried in their respective home states.
