Upgrading projects at Tawau Hospital completed

TAWAU: Upgrading works to improve the Tawau Hospital, carried out since two years ago, have been completed, Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min (pix) said today.
He said they involved two projects, namely upgrading of electricity supply to 11kv costing RM9.8 million and renovation of a palliative ward, costing RM350,000.
Following upgrading of the electricity supply, bigger machine and equipment, including the CT Scan, can be provided at the hospital," he told reporters during a working visit to Tawau Hospital here today.
He said the palliative care ward was also renovated to make it more conducive for end-stage patients.
Now the ward is is operation with one-day care room and six other rooms which are equipped with television and air-conditioning system, he added. — Bernama
