PETALING JAYA: Ancom Nylex Bhd, Southeast Asia’s leading fully integrated chemical group posted revenue of RM1.32 billion for the nine months ended Feb 28, 2026 (9M FY26), compared to RM1.42 billion a year ago.

The drop was largely due to softer average selling prices in the industrial chemical segment and a weakening US dollar, which reduced the overall value of agrichemical exports.

On a brighter note, net profit for 9M FY26 rose 21.5% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM56.4 million from RM46.4 million in the prior year.

Improved profit margins and greater operational efficiency in the industrial chemical division’s distribution business were the key contributors to the increase.

For Q3 FY26, the group’s revenue was broadly stable y-o-y at RM446.2 million, down from RM449.0 million last year.

This trend was reflected in the bottom line, with Q3 FY26 net profit coming in slightly higher at RM18.3 million, against RM18.0 million in Q3 FY25.

Managing director and group CEO Datuk Lee Cheun Wei said the global economy is navigating a particularly complex environment.

“The ongoing conflicts in the Middle East have introduced significant volatility into energy and shipping markets.

“Disruptions at critical chokepoints such as the Strait of Hormuz have pushed oil prices, insurance premiums, and transportation costs higher, adding further pressure on businesses already managing elevated energy costs and supply chain disruptions.”

He continued: “For us at Ancom, we continue to be vigilant in light of the difficult operating environment. Nevertheless, demand in the agrichem segment continues to hold up, supported by favourable crop prices.

“In addition, the final product registration approval for the group’s core active ingredient (AI) product for soybean application in Brazil was publicly published last month, allowing soybean to be included on the product label.

“This strategically positioned us to tap into the 2026 soybean planting season, which is approximately five times larger than the sugarcane crop currently served by the group.”

Ancom Nylex has proposed a second interim dividend by way of the distribution of treasury shares, on a one-for-100 basis.
