DXN signs MoU with Apex-Brasil to explore opportunities in Brazil

PETALING JAYA: DXN Holdings Bhd, a manufacturer of nutraceutical products, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) to explore Brazil as a potential regional hub for its Latin American operations, with a preliminary indicative interest of up to approximately US$50 million (RM200 million) in potential investments.

Following the MoU, DXN will undertake structured feasibility assessments, regulatory mapping and partner evaluations in collaboration with Apex-Brasil.

The MoU signing ceremony was held in Brasília, Brazil, and was attended by senior representatives from both parties.

DXN was represented by CEO Prajith Pavithran, while Apex-Brasil was represented by its president, Jorge Ney Viana Macedo Neves, who highlighted the strategic national importance of the collaboration for both Malaysia and Brazil.

DXN founder and executive chairman Datuk Lim Siow Jin said Latin America has emerged as one of DXN’s fastest-growing regions, underpinned by strong consumer adoption and long-term demand for health and wellness products.

“Brazil, in particular, represents a strategically important market aligned with our global sustainability ambitions and long-term growth objectives.

Prajith said the MoU provides a structured and government-facilitated framework for DXN to systematically assess opportunities in Brazil.

“Working closely with Apex-Brasil, we will undertake detailed feasibility assessments, regulatory mapping and partner evaluations to determine the most appropriate pathways for potential expansion,“ he said.

Under the MoU, DXN and Apex-Brasil have established a comprehensive, non-binding cooperation framework to support DXN’s exploration of potential investments of up to approximately US$50 million in Brazil, subject to feasibility assessments and prevailing market conditions.

Apex-Brasil will facilitate information exchange on investment procedures, regulatory frameworks and market access, support the development and registration of Ganoderma and related mushroom-based products, and connect DXN with relevant industry, distribution and research partners.

Meanwhile, DXN will assess opportunities across agricultural production, processing, and distribution and will collaborate to evaluate Brazil as a potential strategic base for its Latin American operations, in line with its sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

Consistent with DXN’s long-term sustainability strategy, the collaboration under the MoU will emphasise responsible investment principles, including environmental stewardship, social impact and good governance.

DXN and Apex-Brasil will explore sustainable agricultural practices, responsible sourcing, and community development initiatives aligned with ESG standards to support long-term value creation across Latin America.
