FOLLOWING the announcement of his first restaurant, Rembayung, a kampung-inspired dining spot in Kuala Lumpur, entrepreneur and influencer Khairul Aming faced a wave of mixed reactions.
While many Malaysians celebrated the launch, some critics questioned his decisions, saying he would fail or that his efforts were pointless.

Khairul Aming addressed the feedback in a heartfelt Threads post, emphasizing resilience and encouragement for fellow small business owners: “Some people say I will fail.
“Some say I don’t think things through. Some say I’m a burden. Some say it’s all pointless. I’m not asking for praise, I just hope that this business journey will be made easy.
“Whatever successes I achieve or mistakes I make, I share them publicly so that other small business owners can learn and be inspired.
“I want the big risks I take to be a learning opportunity for all of us, helping grow our local businesses further,” he wrote.
“I’m grateful because I’ve been used to reading people’s feedback for the past 10 years, and I’m okay with it.
“But for those just starting out, reading all this feedback can be intimidating and might make them afraid to begin.
“I hope that if you see a small business owner just starting, you’ll offer them support. Allow them to start and shine in our country.
“I humbly ask everyone to pray that the journey of Rembayung will go smoothly. Thank you all for your kind understanding,” his post read.
